Wonky Leg Session Questions
OK, this is about the wonkiest obscure policy question I could possibly come up with, and I admit I pulled the choices out of my... hat.
But seeing as this year the Leg is holding special session for a month, I thought it begged some discussion here.
By State statute, the Oregon Legislature meets in Salem on odd-numbered years, and may hold supplemental sessions on even-numbered years. The rest of the time they are not just sitting around watching Matlock reruns, no no, they are busy in committees, meeting with constituents, reviewing policies, and just maybe catching the occasional Matlock. Or Monk. I hear they really like Monk.
So, should the current laws pertaining to session length and frequency be ammended? If a longer session or sessions were adopted, should the Leg's salaries be adjusted? (they really get paid pretty poorly.)
Post a comment to cite your reasoning.
Gotta go, there's a Monk marathon on tonight!
Cheers,
Glen
